A Personal Journey Through Weight Loss

I was always active, a hiker, camper, activity nut. Over the span of two years, due to stressful situations, I have found myself in my doctors office with the simple advice of make a lifestyle change, or make arrangements. I have found myself with a low thyroid, high kidney enzymes, low testosterone, sleep apnea, and weighing in at the heaviest in my life at 270.

I begin my journey by checking my diet and my eating habits. I was appalled. This was nothing like the health nut I was. Chips, pizzas, lots of fast food, 3 to 4 soft drinks a day, snacking on chocolate snacks through the day, and keeping snacks at my desk all changed my 4 pack(never got the 6) to a spare tire with off road treads. The first thing I did was remove all sweets from my house and my office, to remove temptation during this starting trying time of my life.

Next part of my life I looked at was my activity level. Well, I walk to the snack room to get snacks, walk to my car, walk the dog, and worked out with weights 5 minutes a day. Well, worked out not regularly, or anything resembling a normal routine. A normal routine can be prepared through the customers for the intake of resurge pills. The weight reduction from the body is as per the needs and requirements of the customers. With the consumption of the pills, proper exercises can be performed to get the desired results in the normal routine.

The third part of my life was stress, and how was I handling it. Being an ex-smoker, I am sensitive to smoking. Being around people who smoke causes me some stress, so I have to change my interaction habits with people, without coming off as a typical ex-smoker condescending individual. Financial stress also added a lot of stress to me. Worrying about bills, a job, food etc brings a toll on anybody.

So, I now have three areas of improvement, and a goal. My next Dr visit he wants me to lose 10 pounds in a month. I am going to double that. Now, do not follow my advice, or how I go about this because every person is different, and every persons body can handle things differently. And consult your doctor before beginning any weight loss or exercises plan.

My first step towards achieving my goal is my diet. Gone this past weekend is soft drinks and any beverage but water, and protein shakes. I also eliminated most anything that is not vegetables or fruit. I sat down and planned my meals out creating 5 meals a day, spaced approximately 3 hours apart, and of small portions. The idea supported by science is that more smaller meals is better then 3 or 2 larger ones. So I planned out these meals and packed the ones for work up, so I wouldn’t be tempted to leave work to find food.

Second step is exercises. I have found over 2 years my body is deteriorating, so this will be the tricky part, do enough to be active but not enough to overly stress my body. Over the weekend I worked out in the heat of the day doing nothing but body related exercises. Jumping jacks, push ups, crunches, etc. The reason I performed this in the heat of the day was to force my body to sweat at a higher level then it would indoors, and to get some sun on my skin. The sweating process is to help me purge anything in my body. I only did this for a short time, and kept water with me, careful to not push too hard. I also every hour during the day got up and did 10 crunches, and 10 push ups. Nothing strenuous, or hard, but activity that wasn’t present. Now that I am at work, I am going to utilize our gym and perform what my trainer calls super sets. I am going this rate because right now I am after building lean fat burning muscle.

To fix the stress in my life, I am making not only lifestyle changes and seeing a psychiatrist, I am meditating and re-taking tai chi for relaxation. The people in my life I determine to be toxic to me will be removed from my life, and I will only surround myself with those who are not energy vampires.

As of now, my waist is at 42 inches, my weight is at 270. The stat I am most interested in of course is waist size. Why not weight? Well, there will be a period of time where the muscles will grow and fat will still be there and may even make it a little higher. However by judging my progress based on waist and appearance, I will have a better analysis.
